The challenge of developing a project starting from a triangular lot shape with a pronounced narrowing towards the north slope and a considerable difference in ground elevation guided our reasoning to find a distributive layout that was convincing from a formal perspective while always keeping the logistics and practicality of the functions expressed in the competition brief as the focus of the intervention. The building is developed on two above-ground floors; one houses the technical and storage areas, more closely related to the operational character, while the upper one includes the personnel section, from changing rooms to teaching rooms, the guest quarters, offices, and the cafeteria. The training ground is a kind of square to which the building serves as a scenic backdrop. The training tower is certainly the most distinctive element of a construction designed to host the Fire Brigade - much like the bell tower for a church or a crenellated wall for a castle. We have thus decided to emphasize this element; detached from the entire body of the building and placed at an angle to the lot shape, it becomes a central pivot of the project, simultaneously overlooking the two roads adjacent to the new barracks.
